Can you find the fill pipe for this house?

Give up? Don't feel bad it's a trick question! You won't find the fill pipe in this picture because Mother Nature hid it. It's a big problem for us because if your fill pipe is covered with snow, leaves or other debris, it takes us longer to put oil in your tank. In very cold weather, these little delays really add up. A few extra hours can make a big difference to other families who may be running low. (Families who are not on automatic delivery face the biggest risk of a run-out). Besides keeping the fill-pipe-area clear, it's helpful to have the fill pipe marked. Some fill pipes have already been flagged, but markers may have been lost during the off-season.
If you have an underground fuel storage tank, you can help us by:

·         Placing a large stick or flag in the ground near your fill pipe.

·         Maintain a pathway to the fill pipe after a snowfall.

·         Keep any shrubbery near the fill pipe trimmed.

Homeowners with fuel storage tanks in the basement can also help us by keeping the area trimmed near the fill pipes.

All homeowners can help out drivers find your home by having your house number clearly visible on the home. Frequently the numbers are missing or obscured by bushes, tree branches, or other decorations.

Having your house number visible will also help during an emergency response from the police, fire department, or other medical personnel.
